Dear JYC Global Family,
JYC had the honor of performing at the plenary session of the “It’s Time” People’s Peace Summit this past Friday, May 9 in Jerusalem. “It’s Time” is a major initiative by over 50 Israeli peace and civil society organizations to unify and revitalize the fragmented peace movement in Israel. In the wake of the October 7, the summit brought together thousands of Jewish and Arab citizens, activists, and leaders to advocate for a diplomatic resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on justice, equality, and mutual recognition.
Two of our young singers—one Israeli and one Palestinian—shared their powerful personal stories before the chorus delivered a moving performance of “A Different Way” to an audience of thousands, earning a standing ovation. Importantly, our singers were the only youth invited to participate in the summit’s plenary session.

In these incredibly painful and polarized times, JYC continues to show up with courage and compassion. We hope you will join us in person or virtually during our upcoming tour from May 26 – June 5, to raise our voices even louder and to raise vital support for the work we do on the ground in Jerusalem. Our forward-thinking series of events includes powerful in-person and livestreamed concerts, intimate storytelling, immersive workshops, and a one-of-a-kind evening at Nabiha DC blending Palestinian cuisine with courageous conversation.
Through evocative trilingual performances and heartfelt storytelling, JYC opens a space for genuine dialogue across boundaries, challenging audiences to reimagine what’s possible on the path toward a shared future.

Support Our Programming
JYC tours give our young singers transformative opportunities to share their voices and vision with the world—but those moments are rooted in the year-round work we do in Jerusalem.
Your support goes far beyond the stage. It sustains our twice-weekly music and dialogue sessions in one of the world’s most divided cities, creating a safe space where Israeli and Palestinian teens can build trust, confront painful realities, and grow into changemakers in their own communities. Whether or not this upcoming tour stops near you, your contribution becomes part of this story of resilience and hope.
To help us meet this moment of urgent need, longtime supporter Sally Gottesman has offered a generous $75,000 matching gift—doubling every dollar we receive up to that amount. This critical support will help us replace $150,000 USAID had pledged to us for 2025.
This work is hard. But it’s also deeply necessary. And we can’t do it without you.

Whether standing before thousands or showing up with raw honesty in a weekly dialogue session, JYC singers are young people who have had their childhoods shaped by conflict and loss. Yet they choose to come together—not in spite of their differences, but because of them—to imagine something better. We owe it to them, and to ourselves, to invest in a future where connection triumphs over division, and where the answer to violence is not silence, but song.
Come listen. Come witness. Come be part of the movement.
Because when young voices sing from the frontlines of hope, the world listens.
With hope and harmony,
Micah, Amer, Jackie, and the Jerusalem Youth Chorus
