Dear JYC Global Family,
We’re excited to share that JYC’s 14th season is off to a powerful start. Our 30 returning singers have been joined by 20 new voices from across East and West Jerusalem. Our rehearsal room is once again alive with discovery—tentative first notes, bursts of laughter, and the moment when voices begin to blend across languages and backgrounds. At a time when fear and separation ruthlessly continue to dominate the landscape, JYC’s record recruitment and retention speak to something extraordinary: young people choosing connection over division, courage over silence. Even in uncertain times, our chorus continues to grow stronger, and our singers continue to show that harmony is not only possible—it’s unstoppable.
Coming Soon in 2025
As the new year approaches, JYC is closing 2025 increasingly stronger. This month, we’ll take our full ensemble of Israeli and Palestinian teenagers on a three-day retreat filled with team-building, music rehearsals, and dialogue sessions designed for new and returning singers alike to deepen their bonds and build trust.
We’ll also soon release a new music video that demonstrates what global harmony can sound like. During our visit to Chicago in July 2024, JYC collaborated with Uniting Voices Chicago to create and record an original song titled “Standing Together.” This anthem of resilience, hope, and unity captures the shared spirit of our two organizations—each dedicated to empowering young people to raise their voices through music. In the studio, teenagers from Jerusalem and Chicago—representing different races, faiths, and languages—came together to prove that when youth sing together, barriers fade and hope takes the stage.
We’ll end 2025 with a holiday concert celebration for our singers and their families.
Our incredible staff members have expanded the chorus to a record size that reflects the growing power and relevance of our mission, andJYC’s ability to scale and stay united is a powerful statement in itself. Thanks to the strength of our community and the unwavering courage of our young leaders, we continue to prove that harmony is more than a metaphor—it’s a practice, a choice, and a path forward for all of us.
Because we know that peace is not found; it’s created — in every note sung, every act of courage, every hand extended instead of withdrawn. It begins when we choose connection over despair and turn pain into purpose together.
